A-ND announce increase to outreach services hourly rate from 1st April 2024

We were pleased to hear of the announcement that the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP) agreed to increase the Option 2 hourly rate of Self Directed Support (SDS) by 9%, effective as of 1st April 2024. This adjustment is a direct response to the commitment by ACHSCP to support organisations like A-ND uphold the Scottish Living Wage, ensuring that all frontline staff are compensated with a minimum of £12.00 per hour, which A-ND had already implemented from 1st January 2024. We look forward to all other local authorities following suit.

In alignment with this welcome development, and the continued increase in costs with the cost of living crisis, A-ND will accordingly adjust the hourly outreach rate by a 6% increase across all regions we serve, effective as of 1st April 2024. This adjustment ensures that all our staff, irrespective of the local authority area they operate within, are rewarded with a fair and reasonable wage that reflects the invaluable work they perform every day.

This rate adjustment is more than just a reflection of our commitment to fair wages; it represents our acknowledgment of the hard work, dedication, and passion our team bring to their roles in supporting the autistic and neurodiverse individuals and their families within our community. We understand the vital importance of ensuring our team feels valued and adequately compensated for their contributions, which are fundamental to the positive impacts we aspire to create.

We also recognise that this change may prompt questions or require adjustments on the people we support and their families, especially for those directly involved in planning and managing finances and SDS budgets. Please rest assured that our team is here to support through this transition. We are committed to providing the necessary guidance and assistance to ensure a smooth and transparent process for everyone involved.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to the ACHSCP for their support in this matter and to the people and families we support, for their ongoing commitment and trust in our services. Together, we are making strides towards a more equitable and supportive community for all.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Best,

Billy Alexander

CEO
